SuperHero Innovation Fellowship in Technology
Created from inspiration of Super Heroic CEO and Co-Founder Jason Mayden, the SHIFT Fellowship is an educational program of StreetCode Academy that will provide life-changing opportunities in technology, design and entrepreneurship to talented and creative youth of color in East Palo Alto, CA and surrounding communities. StreetCode Academy will launch the SHIFT Fellowship on January 16, 2018.
Applicants who identify as students of color (e.g. African-American, Latino, Asian/Polynesian descent); must be 9-14 years old; have residency in East Palo Alto, Belle Haven, or surrounding communities. All participants must have legal consent from parent(s) or guardian(s).
Research and work sessions are facilitated and coordinated by StreetCode Academy. Activities will include sessions at StreetCode Academy program sites, as well as offsites at the Super Heroic headquarters (Palo Alto, CA); transportation, research material, and technology will be provided by StreetCode Academy.
Period & Number of Fellowships:
For a period of 12 months, from January 16 - December 14, 2018, fellows will meet monthly or bi-monthly; the number of fellowships is 15 persons.

Please note: The SHIFT Fellowship is a voluntary, educational opportunity that provides students with valuable experience in technology, entrepreneurship, and design. Participants are not paid wages, and are not entitled to jobs at the conclusion of the fellowship.
